- A money belt to hold your passport and money
- A photocopy of your passport in a separate location
- Make sure to write down your traveller check numbers
- A photocopy of your plane ticket in a separate location
- Extra passport photos
- A pad lock to lock your bag in a locker
- A very small and portable umbrella
- Sandals for Hostel showers
- A swiss army knife (with scissors and wine opener)
- A sewing kit
- Lots of Film
- Phone numbers and e-mail addresses of friends and family
- A picture of your home town to show people you meet on the road, it makes for good conversation
- Lots of socks and underwear
- A calculator for money conversion
- A bag full of medicines you might need
- Melatonin to get over jet lag
- A small bag to carry necessary stuff when your are doing day trips
- If you plan on staying in hostels, you might want to bring a sheet and a pillow case with you, or you'll have to rent them
- Dont' bring anything that you can't afford to lose
